Richard Olinger, President

Dick was born in Elmhurst, Illinois, graduated from York High School, and did his undergraduate studies at Miami University in Ohio.  He moved out to California where he worked in various sales positions for a manufacturer of automotive parts, a tobacco company, and a maker of holding tanks for recreational vehicles.  In 1977 he decided to return to Miami to obtain his MBA and at that time switched into the accounting field.

He began his professional career in 1979 when he joined the Chicago offices of what was then called Price Waterhouse, an international auditing firm.  Shortly after joining Price Waterhouse he passed the Certified Public Accountant's exam.  While he was at this Big 8 firm, he received intensive experience in corporate taxation, individual taxation, financial planning, international taxation, and started up the firm's employee benefits practice. He also participated in numerous audits of some of the most prestigious companies around the Chicago area.  He was rewarded by several promotions culminating as a senior manager.

Later, Dick was asked to join a mid-sized manufacturing company in the western suburbs as their chief financial officer.  In addition to his regular responsibilities, he supervised the relocation of the company's major plant from the east coast to Chicago's western suburbs,  completed the conversion of the company's entire computer system, and implemented an entirely new benefits package for the employees.

However, he missed the variety and challenge of public accounting and started Olinger & Associates in 1990. Dedicated to bringing his various experiences to his clients, he concentrated on providing accounting, tax, and consulting services to individuals and small business owners.  Dick provides his individual clients with essential advice on financial planning for children's education, retirement, and estates, as well as succession planning, business transition advice, employee benefit plans, and litigation advice to his small business clients.
